After another busy week, let’s try a new sort of musical post. Each month, I’ll share what I’m listening, my personal playlist that I usually hear on my way to work or whenever I have to use public transportation without company. This time, the playlist was put together as a sample of my musical tastes so you know what to expect from the reviews and musical articles I’ll be posting here in this blog. The plan is to make one playlist each month, and throughout the month, I’ll be reviewing the tracks in the list.
For this occasion, even though the mix is pretty varied, the mood ranges from melancholic and nostalgic to looming and unsettling. This was intentional, and what originally inspired me was listening to “The Eraser“ (a Thom Yorke album) for the first time.

It’s one of those nights. I have so many things in my to-do list that I’m having trouble figuring out what to do first. And all of a sudden, while casually browsing Comixology, one of their sales piqued my interest. A series titled “Cimarronin”, with the catchphrase “A Samurai in New Spain” and a synopsis that promised samurai, Jesuit priests, Spanish dukes, African slaves and Manchu princesses on adventure from Manila to Mexico (New Spain).
Are you kidding me? That sounded like Django Unchained meets Samurai Champloo on steroids! I had to check it out immediately! And so, I did. I tried to find out if this odd book had been printed, but that wasn’t the case, so I purchased the digital collected edition without losing another minute. And it was quite the deal too, at only $1.99 USD for the 3 issues.

The week is almost over, so here’s a little electronica to hang in there. It’s from an album I recently discovered which I will probably talk about more in the near future. If you like electronic music that is sometimes downtempo and adds a touch of hip hop here and there, check out the artist, his name is Flume.
Here’s some VG Progressive Rock to kickstart the week with some movement! Remix from FEZ: “Flow” by Stemage, based on the original by Disasterpeace.
Check out the rest of the album, it’s beyond awesome.
Contrary to what you might be thinking, this post is not a test.
It’s a post about posts. A post about the posts in a blog, which in turn is about me. Are you confused yet? That’s a good sign.
To write a post for a blog (read: to be a “blogger”) might sound like a somewhat archaic concept, specially in the days of facebook statuses and tweets. But it only takes a look around the more specialized communities on the Internet to discover that there is a whole world out there, full of blogs that work, satisfying needs of all kinds. That is ideally how the web should work, don’t you think? With the primary objective of satisfying people’s needs. Everything else, everything secondary, is pure banality.
This site pretends to satisfy the needs of one person: me. What are those needs, you ask? Nothing too complicated:
